The Lying Game S01E01 – Pilot Spoilers

Emma Becker (Alexandra Chando) is in foster care. When Emma is framed by her foster brother for stealing she decides to run away from home. Emma doesn’t have many options as to where to run but she knows she has a twin sister, Sutton (Alexandra Chando). Although they have never met in person they have talked on the computer a few times. However, Sutton has other plans. Sutton wants to go to LA and try and find their birth parents. Sutton can’t just pick up and leave like Emma because she was adopted by an affluent couple and she’s supposed to be at school and she would get into trouble. Sutton comes up with the evil scheme that Emma will pretend to be her, while she’s away in LA doing some digging.

Emma goes along with the plan. What other options does she really have? Emma soon finds out it’s not as easy as she might have thought. Sutton has many people in her life such as her parents Ted (Andy Buckley) and Kristin (Helen Slater). She also has her best friends Madeline (Alice Greczyn) and Charlotte (Kirsten Prout) to fool. Not to mention Sutton’s sister Laurel (Allie Gonino) and Luke, Sutton’s boyfriend who’s acting strange. There’s also a mysterious bad boy called Ethan (Blair Redford).

Emma tries her best to be Sutton but by the end of the pilot episode someone’s already figured out that she’s not Sutton.

The Lying Game S01E02 – Being Sutton Spoilers

Madeline Rybeck and father dancing Emma hasn’t heard or seen Sutton since the day they first met. Sutton failed to meet at the prearranged time so Emma has no choice but to continue with the charade of “Being Sutton”.

Since Emma is worried and is preoccupied with thoughts of Sutton she starts to let parts of her own personality appear, which are completely different from Sutton’s. Sutton’s friends and family notice the changes but think it’s for the better and are enjoying a nicer side to Sutton. Since Emma never had a father she wants to please Sutton’s so she has to learn to ballroom dance for the annual father-daughter dance. Emma doesn’t know how to dance so enlists the help of Ethan, as he knows she’s not Sutton.

At the dance conservatory, Char, Madeline and some other girls are practicing ballet for an upcoming recital. When one of the girls gets cut from the recital it’s her mother that takes the news hardest. Mads is interested in Eduardo, the choreographer, and will do just about anything to spend time with him.

Sutton’s sister Laurel tells her parents some of the things that Emma has been doing. We find out that there’s more to Mad’s family than we first thought. Her father is up to something and he gets upset when Mad shows her support for her uncle Thayer, who went to LA to look for work.

Meanwhile, as the teenagers do anything to keep their secrets, the parents may be lying to keep life-altering secrets of their own.

The Lying Game S01E03 – Double Dibs Spoilers

Sutton The Lying Game Sutton meets up with Mads brother Thayer and explains how she is convinced her adopted parents are keeping something from her and tells him what she has found out about her birth mother. Sutton and Thayer make some shocking discoveries in LA in search of the twins birth mother. This leads Sutton to wonder what everyone has been hiding for all these years.

Sutton tracks down Ruth Peterson (Julia Rose), the woman she believes to be her mother, and then she meets with Randall Webster (Deke Anderson), who knows another part of the mystery behind the twins’ birth and adoption.

Sutton calls Ethan.

Sutton’s family now know about the relationship between Sutton and Ethan. The Mercer’s insist Sutton should invite Ethan over for dinner. Ethan comes to dinner but dinner is interrupted by a disturbing visit from Dan. Emma’s starting to develop feelings for Sutton’s boyfriend.

Ethan is framed by Mads dad for the theft of Sutton’s laptop.

Laurel finds herself attracted to a new guy at school. She is sick of being in Sutton’s shadow and is looking to have something of her own. However, Char steps in and crushes Laurel’s dream. Justin is interested in Sutton’s sister Laurel, but Emma wants him to be with Char.

The Lying Game S01E04 – Twinsense and Sensibility Spoilers

The Lying Game s01e04 Emma has a nightmare and shares it with Sutton. Emma learns that Sutton has had the same dream for years and Emma tries to remember her real mother. Emma begins to remember her former life.

Emma knows Ethan is innocent but is finding it difficult to convince Sutton’s father. It becomes clearer that Sutton’s dad is hiding something.

To improve her tennis game Nisha takes up ballet. She also becomes attracted to the choreographer Eduardo. How will Mads feel about this?

There’s a chance we might see Emma and Sutton’s biological mother called Annie, played by Stacey Edwards. Dr. Hughes is watching over Anne.

The Lying Game S01E05 – Overexposed Spoilers

The Lying Game s01e05 Mr and Mrs Mercer start to regret telling Sutton that her birth mother is dead.

It’s the homecoming dance and Emma finds out Sutton was running for homecoming queen. Emma isn’t comfortable with running for Homecoming Queen and wants to pull out but she can’t because Sutton would never pull out of being Homecoming Queen.

Alec, Ted and Kristin have photos showing their prom from back in the 80′s.

Mads and her ballet instructor Eduardo continue to get closer. Mads almost gets caught by her dad but shoves Eduardo into a closet just in time. While inside the closet Eduardo hears a mysterious conversation between Alec and whoever is on the other side of the phone. Alec keeps getting closer and closer to Sutton’s secret and he’s desperate to make sure no one finds out about his and Ted’s involvement with the twins birth mother.

Emma has a moment of happiness and realizes she is living a great life and is enjoying it. Ethan kisses Emma at the homecoming dance in front of everyone.

The Lying Game S01E06 – Bad Boys Break Hearts Spoilers

The Lying Game s01 e06 Mrs Mercer suspects something is wrong with Justin’s homelife.

Sutton finds out about Ethan and Emma’s kiss at Homecoming and feels like Emma is ruining her life.

Sutton hurts Thayer and continues on the hunt for her mother.

Eduardo ends up in the hospital.

Char wonders who Emma is.

The Lying Game S01E07 – Escape From Sutton Island Spoilers

The Lying Game s01 e07 Sutton is held in a cell at the psychiatric hospital while Alec gets the doctor to play ball.

Alec visits Eduardo in the ICU.

Emma faces more problems as things continue to get more complicated. Thayer is back from Phoenix and lets slip that he slept with Sutton. Mads gets upset believing Sutton lied to her. Mads and Char have had enough of Sutton’s lies and want her to tell them the truth.

Thayer seems to know more about Eduardo’s accident than he should, especially since he was in LA at the time of the accident.

The Lying Game S01E08 – Never Have I Ever Spoilers

The Lying Game episode 8 When Sutton is released from Juvie, Emma’s best friend Lexi mistakes her for Emma. Alec watches from across the street.

Emma has to face her past when Travis surprises her. Emma has to do as Travis says or risk having her real identity exposed. Emma has no one to confide in as Ethan continues to put distance between them.

The Lying Game S01E09 – Sex, Lies and Hard Knocks High Spoilers

The Lying Game episode 9 Sutton finds herself in Emma’s shoes again when she arrives at Emma’s best friend’s home, called Lexi. Sutton meets Emma’s foster mother for the first time and it doesn’t go well. Sutton realizes she has to get back to her own life and goes to a casino party with Lexi. Emma is really good at blackjack but Sutton isn’t so it could be a problem for Sutton to get the money she needs for a bus ticket home.

Kristin tells Ted that she want to come “clean” to Sutton and Emma and Ethan overhear them talking. Emma thinks she might be able to get Kristin to open up and tell her the truth but it seems like Kristin’s secret isn’t the only secret.

The Lying Game S01E10 – East of Emma

Alec continues to raise suspicions with Char and Thayer

It’s Sutton and Emma’s 17th birthday and Sutton arrives just in time in Phoenix but instead of wanting to celebrate with her twin she plans to ruin her. Emma knows Sutton is coming back and tries to say goodbye to the people she has come to love in Phoenix. Ethan wants Emma to stay and fight for her place.

Sutton returns to Phoenix in time for her seventeenth birthday; she plans on destroying Emma. Meanwhile, Emma attempts to say goodbye to the people she’s met in Phoenix while Ethan tries to get her to stay. Ethan wants Emma to stay and fight for her place. Although Emma plans to leave we have heard that Sutton’s plan doesn’t work out how she hoped.

Guess you’ll have to stick around for the next 10 episodes due to come out in 2012. No specific date has been released yet.

The Lying Game S01E11 – O Twin, Where Art Thou?

Returns to ABC Family on Monday 2nd January 2012, to finish off the 2nd half of the first season of The Lying Game.

Char’s Aunt Annie turns up (actually her full name is Rebecca “Annie” Sewell, played by Charisma Carpenter). Rebecca has been gone for years and this is her first time back in town, much to Ted’s surprise. Rebecca knows a lot of Alec’s and Ted’s secrets.

Phyllis continues to drink and Rebecca and Alec try to deal with it.

Dan continues to worry about Ethan being with Sutton.

The car is found in the lake but Sutton isn’t found. Thayer gets out of hand and Sutton receives a mysterious note.

The Lying Game S01E12 – When We Dead Awaken

Emma can’t take the stress anymore and get’s out of town by visiting the University of Texas to check out their Tennis program. Emma is trying to get away so she can stop worrying about what happened to Sutton and about the threatening letter she received. Emma doesn’t know if it’s from Sutton or from her killer, trying to cover their tracks.

Kristin finally realises that Ted has been lying about his past.

Meanwhile, Char has to deal with her own problems. Char’s mother continues her drunken behavior but perhaps things will be different now that Aunt Rebecca is in town. Rebecca thinks this might be her in – into the pool house.

The Lying Game S01E13 – Pleased to Meet Me

Rebecca and Kristin work on a silent charity auction together. Laurel showcases her singin talent at the event. Alec and Rebecca get closer on the dance floor.

New cast member joins The Lying Game. Ryan, played by Misha Crosby, comes to Arroyo High and enrols after being kicked out of his Boarding School. Ryan is attracted to Mads, buts she’s not entirely convinced he’s her type. Emma steps in to get the couple together.

Emma and her 2 lovely men, Ethan and Thayer, continue to follow the clues trying to find out what happened to Sutton. They discover something which threatens everything.

The Lying Game S01E14 – Black and White and Green All Over

Emma was supposed to go to the Black and White Ball with Ethan but Sutton goes with him instead. Ethan only goes to protect Emma. Ethan doesn’t want the person who wrote the note about Sutton to go after Emma.

Sutton is happy to go with Ethan but it is bringing back memories of seeing Emma and Ethan at the Homecoming Dance. Sutton is forced to wear the white dress Emma picked out for the Ball.

Sutton uses her normal tricks to cause friction between Ethan and Emma.

Ted finds out Justin’s motives and why he’s in Texas.

Rebecca and Mads get closer and share some relationship issues.

The Lying Game S01E15 – Dead Man Talking

Sutton, Thayer and Ethan go looking for Derek. When they get to his house they find his mum. Derek’s mum tells the 3 friedns something they find upsetting and links Derek to Dan.

Ethan sticks his nose in the wrong place and is now in serious trouble.

Ethan tries to protect Emma but instead gets himself into serious trouble, after he hits someone. The police are on the case, where can Ethan hide?

The Lying Game S01E16 – Reservation For Two

Derek is dead and Ethan is the prime suspect. Sutton and Ethan run to safety far away on the Reservation, where Ethan’s father lives. Sutton continues to find ways to win back Ethan’s affections.

Meanwhile, Emma has to try and answer questions about a crime Sutton witnessed. Emma’s testimony could absolve Ethan or condemn him. Emma has to step carefully while being questioned.

The Lying Game S01E17 – No Country For Young Love

We a potential love interest of Ethan’s Father. Sutton has dinner with Ethan’s Dad and the female friend.

Emma and Thayer finally come clean to Mads and tell her about the twin swap etc. Mads now knows about Emma.

Mads, Thayer and Emma find out the murder victim from last week was seen arguing with Alec before the murder.

Laurel has a secret and Rebecca knows it. EIther Rebecca has figured out that Laurel and Justin are dating or that Laurel and Baz are getting closer.

The Lying Game S01E18 – Not Guilty As Charged

As Ethan sits in a jail cell his friends run around trying to prove his innocence. Ethan is brought back to Pheonix because of the death of Derek. Emma continues to support Ethan but Kristin and Ted can’t understand her unwavering support for a murderer.

Alec’s history with Derek means he can’t try the case against Ethan himself so brings in a start prosecutor from his firm. Dan decides to contact an ex-girlfriend and ask for help, as she is now a successful defense attorney.

Sutton continues to scheme and plot to break up Emma and Ethan.

The Lying Game S01E19 – Weekend of Living Dangerously

Kristin continues to grow suspicious about Ted and thinks there’s more to the story of the death of Justin’s Mum than she’s been told. She still doesn;t understand why Ted never told her all the details before.

Ethan continues to avoid Emma when he returns from the reservation. Emma wants to know what happpened between Ethan and Sutton while thye were away but neither is talking. Sutton is ready to send Emma on her way for good.

Thayer finally decides to listen to Emma and finally agrees his father may not be totally innocent afterall. Thayer investigates Derek’s death and the possible link to Alec. Thayer questions Alec’s alibi and starts to question Rebecca’s place in the whole story.

The Lying Game S01E20 – Unholy Matrimony

A sudden engagement which quickly leads to a wedding raises suspicions that something isn’t quite right. Is Rebecca about to get what she’s been planning?

Sutton finds soething in Rebecca’s home and tries to get Emma to show Kristin.

Answers are finally given which lead to shock and long lating repercussions in the Mercer house.

Ethan discovers something which could change everything.
